  1. A few of our customers have asked us about the infringement case for the FLBP1-7 vis-a-vis the Brompton in Spain. We have asked the Distributor Onesport for clarification and here is their answer:

“The case is only applicable in Spain and refers to a model called “Oxford”. The injunction is not an exclusive ruling and does not apply to the 7 speed “London” or “FLBP1-7″ sold in Singapore and other parts of the world. Grace Gallant has also posted a link on their website in response to the press release. http://www.flamingobike.com/news/news_show.php?id=16&now_row=0

Looks like its is (again) a non issue at the end of the day. So recent buyers and potential buyers of the FLBP1-7 London – nothing to be too concerned about. You get a great value from a 7 Speed foldable that you can push around at less than S$1350!

    http://www.flamingobike.com/news/ has the press release

    • What’s THAT? We do not get any enquiries nor see any owners asking for this brand at our shop. We only carry world reputable brands: Alex Moulton, Airnimal, Bike Friday, Dahon, Flamingo, Lamborghini, Tyrell and Zigo. Come by our shop, maybe you can show us photos and we can help. We are open Mondays to Saturdays 12nn to 8pm (No appointments needed). Closed on Thu and Sun and PH.

  2. Hi, I am interested in getting a Dahon bike. However I would like to do a test ride before committing into getting one. Do you guys do test rides? What are the available Dahon models that MyBikeShop carries? Thanks and appreciate the time in this.

    • We at MBS have more than 10 bikes from different brands to test ride. Its really the best place to see how the various wheel sizes, folding systems and concepts work. Come by. We are open Mon-Sat Noon to 8pm execpt Thu/Sun/Major PH. No need to make an appointment. LoL Cya!

      • Hi, thanks for the reply.
How about the front baby seat that is installed on the frame. I see in speedmatrix website, a belleli brand.
Right now my baby weight is almost 10 kg.
I have another question. for non folding bicycle, without front wheel, can we put it in the car boot? Thinking to keep bicycle in the car due to no place at home.
        Thanks in advance.

  3. I’ve read on Togoparts that u carry the O-Synce Minifree Cycling Computer that comes in Gold. may i know the availability and the price of it. Thanks

  4. hi,
i need to find out if My Bike Shop has this model, Tyrell FX. and if i order, how long do i need to wait?

what is the price for this model? thanks!

    • Dear Joseph,

Yes we have a Tyrell FX that you can view at the shop. Currently there is a long waitlist as we have ordered since last mth and the Tyrell FX is on back order BUT please come by the shop to make your booking so that we can include your order asap. Call us at 67757133 Tan

  5. Hi, brother, the reason I wrote to you is to convince my friends that the order he placed to the company is false.(I already bougth the mu ex from Ahmad so I dont need the vector) Any way it aiready to late he already paid US 700 through western union bank and what they promise till now is blank.

    • Bro, your good intentions are noted. Dun worry, for the last 5 years, we have seen so many scalpers and scams which is why we LIST our Dealers and provide the latest updates to our customer base. In fact the Vectors will be arriving soon in December(for viewing by Invite only, arranged by us) and you can place preorders after you touch and feel the bikes.

Sorry to hear about your friend’s gamble…

  6. Hi,

I just wonder is there stock for the Dahon Silvertip? Thinking of getting one for some cycling session with my bro in law.

  7. Hi

Can i check with regard to your biologic iPhone mounting promotion? We just bought a speed and vitesse at your shop but we didn’t received the iPhone mount.

  8. Hi,
Do you have the Dahon Mu Uno bike?
if so I would love to see it when I am next in Singapore.
    Thanks,
    Jeff from Dubai
p.s. the folding helmet I got from you is “wowing” people all over the world!

  9. Hi MBS,

I’m really interested in getting a Dahon bike and my budget would be around $500-800.

Can you please recommend me some models in that range?

  10. Hi I get to know you guys from my friend, I know you have carry this brand Friday bike. Do you have this model (pocket rocket) and watt the cost like?

    Regards
    Roy

  11. Hello

Do you have Dahon Speed D7 in stock? I’m thinking of getting 2.

Also, how much would it cost to upgrade the tires to that of the Mu P8 2010?

  12. Hi,

Do you sell the Rido R2 saddle and can it fitted on the Jetstream p8 2009 model? May I know too how much it costs?

    Thanks.

    • Yes we have stock of the Rido R2 S$75 each but you will need a Kore I-Beam saddle adapter S$50 to fit the I Beam to the rail of the Rido R2. One option to consider is perahps to maybe look at the new Lightskin seatposts S$95 that has buildin LED that is rail based.

  13. Hi,

Has the parts for the kickstand for the jetstream p8 arrived yet? I am also planning to install a rear rack, is it possible to do it?

    Thx.

  14. do you sell dahon matrix 2011 model, and what is the price range?
also for the dahon mu p24, the price range?
is the wheel 24″ or 26″ for the matrix? and what colors is available? thks

    • The Mu P8 that we have now are not old stock but remaining stock of whatever has been produced over the last year. The year determines the design specs and may not mecessarily mean the year it was manufactured. Dahon will always have new lineups and the MuP8 model series may or may not be continued into next year’s line up. The stock are all brand new with the same warranty cover from Dahon. Of course if you want to wait, it is also fine.

    • The Dahon Eco C6 was a 6 speed Alu frame with different set of folding latches on the front handlepost and centre fold mechanism.

The Dahon C6 2012 is an identical Alu frame but the handlepost and the centre fold mechanism is different. In short improved but we kept the price the same!

Preorder your unit now. Black and Brick colour available.

      Stock arrives mid Oct 2012

  15. Hi,

Got the Jetstream EX from you last SAT, had a go at it on SUN, and I must say that it is fantastic!!
Just like to check… do I qualify for the angry berds promo? ( the O-synce cyclometer)..
    Thks..

  16. What is the difference between the Vitesses D7 and D7HG? What are their prices? How different is the Vitesses from the C6? Do you have any low price (<$300) single speed foldable?

  17. hi;

i was wondering if there are any bikes <$300. i'm looking for something to ride leisurely(or exercise).

and i guess at that price, i have no expectations on brands.

and oh, preferably suitable for heavy riders.

    • Bike Fridays start around S$1800 and the ones that we know about Tern that can take this weight is going to be at the S$1500 range. But investment in health is important – yes? Ride it more, get healthier, 100 rides = S$15/ride but multiples of health benefits that money cannot buy ;)

  18. Hi, looking for a foldie for under $600. main concerns are weight and colour. prefer as light as possible that is in grayscale colours (black-grey-white)

  19. im planning to buy Dahon Speed D7 and was wondering what is your price for it? can i also pay under installment plan using an OCBC credit card? thank you!

  20. Hi I am interested to get 2 x Dahon C6 2012. What is the price and when will they arrive? Any other color to choose from? Can it stand 90kg?

    • It will likely remain the same ie S$475 each and they take rider weights of 105kg. You may want to consider the Tern Link C7 arriving next week at S$550 and it takes rider weights of 110kg.

We have no confirmed colours for the C6 yet but we hearsay its White and Blue.

      • Link C7 is black.

Dahon C6 will come avaialble in White or Denim Blue.

As for the diff between C6 and C7; C7 is 7 speeds while the C6 is 6 speeds. The C6 is still badged as Dahon while the C7 is badged by DNA (Stands for Dahon North America – Freedom unfolds.)

All good IMHO for the mass market foldie enthusiast.

  21. Hi

I went down to the shop and was well served by Kian Lim and Vivian. Bought a Tern P9 and upgraded the seat to a Rido for S$40. Just realized, though, that part of the promo was the Lightskin Seatpost, which I didn’t get. Appreciate your clarification please :)

    Paul

    • Actually we have no more Vitesse D7 but you can visit Uncle Loh for Song Seng Chan Tel:6344 0690 located at Joo Chiat. You can then see if you want to consider the Tern Link C7 which is very similar to Dahon C6. he has both models. we only have Link C7 in stock.

  22. I gotten Tern C7 last week, thus not looking at this brand. Will like to have other brand instead. Do you have any other recommendation which cost less than SGD1K?

  23. hi,
can i just check the price for the dahon MU P8 and do you still have it in stock?
whats the difference between the 2011 model and 2012 model and is the price the same for both? When will the 2012 model be available?
    Thank you.

  24. Hi, do you still have the Aeon 20 inch 6 speed? As i’m looking to buy 2 foldable bikes just for weekend recreational cycling but my budget is around $300+ for one… not sure what foldable bikes can i get at this price?

    thank you!

    • We still have stock for the Aeon and they are now priced at S$299 each. At this price level, the Aeon is a good choice. Of course if you have a higher budget, we recommend the Tern C7 which is currently out of stock but the price has increased to S$575 each. If you preorder now, we have a few more units available, delivery Jan 2012. The Dahon C6 will be restocked at S$495 in Mar 2012. That’s the latest update. When we have better update, we will let everyone know! Hope to see you. Just a note, we are CLOSED tomorrow for a company event. We resume normal operations on Tuesday 20 Dec. Cya!

  25. GOOD DAY!!MBS, i would like to ask if you still have dahon vector x10 on stock and how much does it cost? im from the philippines so i can only be reach through this thread.. your reply is highly appreciated…

  26. i have a friend working in clementi, he will be the one to pick up the unit… i forgot to ask how much is the vector x10? reply is highly appreciated.. thank you..

  27. Do you do tire upgrades ? I have a Giant Expressway and it’s rolling on Kenda K193 Kwest 20×1.25 tires. Can any of your Scwalbe Kojak tire fit my bike and how much will that cost ?

    • Can you advice the ETRTO spec for your rim? It’s the 3 digit number. Eg 20- 406 or 20-359. If that’s not existing, you can see the current Kenda tire, hopefully it was the original tires.

You HAVE to make sure that the rim has the right tire spec or else you might have a very bad accident doing sharp corners. The tires may come off the rims.

  28. Hi,
I’ve bought 2 Flamingo Nx 7 from you. I would like to know if you have the luggage block and bag for sale. How much is the luggage block and the bag? Thanks

  29. Hi. I have a tonino lamb desiderio bought last year. The front handlebar has a little rocking forward issue due likely to the loose positioning of headset and frame. I can see a small 5mm gap between both headset and frame. Can it be tighten? May I seek your opinion if there is a solution for this?

    Jason

  30. Hi, I’m interested in the Bike Friday tikit. How much does one with the hyperfold cost?
Is M size the reommended size for my 1.61m height?

  31. Hi, I am looking for a shock pump with gauge with readings from 0 to 30 psi. Do you sell them?
My fork requires a max of 10 to 15 psi.

  32. I see.. how abt Tern Link D8, is it also similar to dahon spd p8? i’m int.. to get one, what color do u have and how much you selling?

    Thanks
    Regards
    Chiang

    • Sky, we are out of stock for the foldies in this price range except for Aeon 6 speed S$299. Out of stock models are Tern C7 S$575 or Dahon C7 S$495. expected to arrive in April 2012. Book yours early to avoid disappointment

  33. Hi there, purchased a aeon from your shop earlier last week. just want to check whether are there any options to change the handlepost into something that accepts aftermarket handlebars?

  34. I have a Dahon Vitesse D7 and an ArcLite rack. Wonder if you might happen to have pannier bags that would fit the rack?

      • Thanks for the advice. Someone also advised me that the trick is to use the smaller front panniers and recommended the Ortlieb Front Roller Classic. I’ll check it out before I think off writing off my Arclite investment :-( Cheers! -tsh

      • Just an update that the Ortlieb Front Roller Classic works fine for the Vitesse D7. Got the black one. There are a few adjustments to make using an Allen Key but after that it all works well. Cheers -tsh

  35. Hello MBS,

I am looking for a high performance minivelo/ folding bike to fulfill my need of a good road bike but due to frequency travelling and house space constrain. I have list down couple of choices and need your advice & comment:

    1) Tyrell, SZ air ride. Do you carry this model and how much? (just give an idea if you can’t tell an exact quote)
    2) Tyrell Si, understand this is the most lightest tyrell but no idea on price, please advice
    3) Tyrell Fx, how is this bike compare to those two, apart from folding

    Many thanks
    Krit

  36. Hi I just want to check if its advisable to attached a rear child seat on a foldable bike. Was reading some forums and the rough info I get is that its not advisable on the 20 inch bikes. I am looking to buy a pair of foldables with one attached with childseat.(my boy weigh about 12 kg now). What is the maximum weight advised for a child seat. Appreciate if can reply thru email. Currently overseas and will be back only in May. Possiible to get both bikes and child seat for leess than 1k?

    • First things first – combined weight of rider and child must not exceed weight rating of bicycle ( Typically 105kg unless you get a Bike Friday or Tern where you can shoot for 110kg for some models). We have got several customers who have installed a detachable Belleli TUV rated child carrier and the carriers are rated to carry a child of up to 22kg. There will be some thnigs you need to watchout for so best to discuss when you come down. As for the 1k budget? the child seat already costs S$100 – S$120 so all depends on the choice of folding bike that you eventually buy or available to buy after you minus the child seat cost.

  37. Hi I bought a Flamingo HT2007 from MBS in June 2011. I came to your shop yesterday but not knowing it was closed.

I would like to check what are the thinnest tyre I can fix on the stock wheelset and how much it cost?

    • Wai, the rims for the HT2007 will only fit basic non folding tires. We open everyday except Sun and public holidays 12 noon to 8pm. Do call us before you come down at 67757133. As the HT2007 is designed for basic recreational use, best to stick to basic tires and profile.

  38. Hi. I am looking for a tyrell bike with performance parts.
Are you able to advise likely price of an FX or CSI with ultegra or durace group set, am7 451 wheels and drop bar?

  39. I am thinking of getting a foldable bike. I have never owned one nor actually went down to source for one before. What is the rough price range for an entry level foldable bike. Or might I ask, what is the cheapest foldable bike you offer?

    Cheers

  40. Hi there
I just bought a BF Tikit from you guys few days back and was wondering if you guys also sell some of the accessories for the tikit ?
Am looking to get the mudguards/fenders as well as the Quicktransit cover.
    thanks

  41. How much are you selling that limited edt. Mu XXV? You can email it to me if you want to keep the price private. Looking to save up to buy it, but if someone buys it by then, more cash for me. >:3

  42. What’s the weight of flamingo HSF1? MBS Selling promo @ $1500, but only in white and red.
Available in yellow color? can its part upgradable?

    • Please click on the Dahon site http://www.dahon.com/support/warranty

      Warranty Information

Dahon warrants its bicycle frames, handleposts, and rigid forks to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of five years. In addition, Dahon warrants all original parts on the bicycle, excluding suspension forks and rear shocks, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. Suspension forks and rear shocks shall be covered by the warranty of their original manufacturers.

This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of a defective frame, fork, or defective part and is the sole remedy of the warranty. Claims under this warranty must be accompanied by a photo of the defective part, a description of the defect, the serial number of the bicycle, and a copy of the original purchase receipt. This warranty only covers bicycles and components purchased through an authorized Dahon dealer and is only valid within the country in which the bicycle was purchased. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, improper assembly or follow-up maintenance, installation of parts or accessories not originally intended or compatible with the bicycle as sold, damage or failure due to accident, misuse or neglect, or modification of the frame, fork or components.

This warranty applies only to the original owner and is not transferable. The warranty on the frame, handlepost, and fork may be upgraded to a lifetime warranty if the original owner fills out the online registration. The warranty is activated when the bicycle is tuned and adjusted by a professional mechanic before the owner’s first ride.

  43. Hi, I am interested in the Tern C7 but would like to try out different on Dahon C7 and Tern C7 as it is my 1st foldable bike. Any stock available for C7?

    • Kianping – we are flat out of Tern Link C7. Can only tell you that the 2 series from Dahon Eco C6 and Tern Link C7 are very similar in ride and design. Just minor differences in terms of number of gears(speeds) and of course the price.

  44. Hi – Are the Tern D8 and P9 available? If yes, what colours do you have? If not, when will they be in stock? Prices? Thank you – Hoping to get there this Sat, if available.

  45. Hi MBS Team,

Just got the P9 and P18 earlier. Your great service made our purchases so much easier. Looking forward to our virgin rides. That won’t be the last time we’ll visit your shop! Cheers!

      • I am planning to go down this Sat to buy a foldie (probably the Tern Link D8 and other accessories. Do I get any freebies or do I have to wait until GSS which starts on 25th May – 22nd July? Please advise. Thanks.

  46. I write from Spain, I would like to know if you have stock of flamingo bikes (Oxford or London 7V), the prices and if you send the bikes to Spain. I like too dahon vitesse D7HG and Tern bikes.

  47. I bought a Tern Link D8 from you last Saturday (Vesak Day). I was served by Denis Lim who was very helpful. However, I am not satisfied with the following:
    1. The magnet that holds the bike when folded is not strong enough to hold the bike together when folded. I read in Tern support forum that there is a replacement for this. See quote below:

“’We been working on improving the magnetix that would increase the force to keep the bike folded. Can you inform the dealer where you bought your bike from and we’ll send them the improved version to replace the one that you have on your bike.”

Can I get the replacement from you?

    2. The saddle that coems with the bike is most uncomfortable. Can I get a replacement for it?

    3. There is a check list that comes with the manual which contains important information for the dealer to go through with the new owner. At the shop I was not made to go through with it.

I am disappointed with Tern in the QA of their bikes specifically the very basic features of the magnet and the saddle which I thought should be easily rectified before release for sales. In fact they should have recalled their bikes to at least fix the magnet issue.

I hope to get these points settled quickly – it does not look good on Tern with such poor qualities.

    • Lawrence, let’s answer each of your questions:

      1. If you look at the magnet design, these are artificial magnets and of course the strength of the magnet can vary from each batch. Having said this, we are more than happy to lodge the replacement request. So until the said replacement part arrives, no point bringing in the bike unless you do not mind us swapping out from our current spares which is the standard part on the Tern D8s. Sometimes, small adjustments to ensure that both metal pieces on the Magnetix are fully aligned can improve the hold but they are designed to be light holds. Just have a think though and let us know your preference.

      2. The saddle fitted is the standard stock for the Link D8s. Perhaps you can come by and help us understand if your discomfort/pain is immediately upon riding or is it after 1-2 hrs on the bike. If its the former, please stop riding and 99%you need a wider saddle. If your discomfort is after 1-2 hours of continuous riding and you have not been riding for some time, it is quite normal but please exercise care if the soreness persists more than 1 day as it means you need a wider saddle even if you are physically conditioned. More comfortable saddles are available and they can be changed as in any upgrade but because there are so many different after market saddles, you can come by and consider what is available and decide how much you want to pay for that saddle of choice. We range Rido, Brooks, Dr Air that would likely resolve the perineum trauma. Wearing cycling pants with padding helps.

      3. From our experience, recalls occur only when there is a safety issue during riding the bikes. The magnet is a feature to provides convenience and to hold the bike during transit, not riding so unlikely for a recall to be called for this. We have not seen mass failures in the magnetix but we are here to help where we can.

We understand your frustration but the Tern bikes have received good reviews for it’s rigid build, quality and especially the ride, but improvements and suggestions are always welcome.

      • Thank you for your reply.
About the magnet, the question is the magnet on my Link D8 is the latest improved version which is supposed to keep the bike folded – from what I know this is not the latest version as it does not keep it folded. Please let me know when the replacement magnet arrives so that we can solve the problem quickly.
I have heard from more than one occasion that the stock saddle is not comfortable and others have suggested to change the saddle to a better one. I guess Tern is trying to maximise profit here and does not provide a comfortable saddle (which I would think is important like safety of the bike which cannot be compromised). Are there any saddle that provide comfort which you are carrying and are now on promotion? I would like to change the saddle or it is possible to upgrade it.

Are there any Tern owner that have experience the same problem as I have with the magnet not holding the folded bike together? Any experience with the stock saddle? Would be good to air our displeassures here so that we can make things better.

        Thank you for your patience.

        Lawrence Tan

      • Dear MyBikeShop,
Have the magnet arrived yet? I am planning to go down this Thursday to have it fixed and get some more accessories.
        Thanks.

      • Lawrence, we do not have the Tern so called replacement Magnetix (as the request has been put up but the Distributor has not confirmed getting it yet) but we have brand new spares of Magnetix magnets that are new that we could swap them with yours.

  48. Hi,

Is the Tern Link C7 available yet? If not then when is it going to be available? Possible to ‘book’ the bike now?

  49. Hi, may I ask if you have stock for 2012 Dahon P8 now? I understand the P8 seat height is adjustable but how about the handle height, can it be adjusted (eg higher for comfy ride)? Thanks.

      • In that case do you know the ETA for Speed P8 availbility? How about Mu P8 and Vitesse D7, do you have stock? If yes, kindly advise the model year, colour and price. I am considering installing a child seat at the back of the bike for my 4yo daughter, can you advise which if these 3 models (including Speed P8) is suitable to do so? How much is a child seat plus installation and can you point me to any URL to take a look at the child seat (I can’t find any from your home page)? Thanks.

      • Lee, it is hard to give an ETA for the models you asked as the schedule for these have not been confirmed. The SpeedP8 has been stocked out at our shop but we have reordered. For child seats, we recommend you come by to speak with us so that we can explain the pros and cons and most importantly the care and attention to ensure safety for you and the child. Too much details to type here and you cannot really buy a bicycle via the web when you have specific needs. Hope to see you soon.

  50. Hello,
According to Josh Hon, the front brakes for D8 (using V brake) should be in front of the fork. See quote below:

    December 29, 2011 – 6:08pm
    josh.hon

All 20” and 24” bikes using V brakes have them mounted behind the fork. As Thor already answered, some pictures have them mounted on the front of the fork but those were pre-production prototypes. We’ve retaken all pictures with production accurate bikes and they should be going up soon.

As Steve mentioned, if the bike is bagged (as is required on most mass transport that I know of) then cables shouldn’t be much of an issue.

    Cheers,

    Josh”

    End of quote.

My D8′s front brake was installed infront of the fork. What is the implication for this wrongly installed front brake? Do we need to change it to the correct position?

    Please advise. Thanks.

    Lawrence Tan

  51. Hello,
Do you have stock for Bike Friday carbon infinity tikit gates/nuvinci? Price and colour available?
If no stock when will in come in?

  52. Hi, do you mean Mu P8 and Vitesse D7 are also out of stocks? If yes I will wait till you get the stocks before coming down, thanks for advising.

  53. Hi. I’m interested in your Flamingo London 7NX. Would it be possible to ship it to Canada? Do you have other pictures available (preferrably close-up)? And who should I speak with to order the bike? Thanks.

  54. Hi I am looking for a foldable bike similar to Dahon P8, budget is 800-1k? Any you can recommend from your shop?. Main purpose – for leisure/fitness long rides of 20-30km and urban touring.

Btw, I’m new to foldables, can it ‘hold’ a person about 1.8m and weighs 90kg….

  55. I am also keen on the Tern D8. However, I have read online that the D8 has some grindng noise (slight) at the smallest two gears, due to the chain slight touching the adjacent one. Has this been addressed by Tern or is it acceptable for a usd600 bike?
