Today, with so many outdoor and adventure seekers in us, how often we wished we had a  phone that we could bring along that can withstand the element,  bad weather, have long battery life (12 hours of talk time) and standby (65 days long enough) , temperature changes (-20deg and +60 deg) OR in that awkward situation that you may be in the pool,  sauna, jacuzzi and cannot be contacted?

“All of us grew up riding big wheeled bikes and they like the specs and price for buying something that they are more comfortable with. Unfortunately with more rubber and metal, it’s not a weight weeny but it’s still lighter than  your average  26 inch MTB and more expensive options.

While the Joe series are less compact, preferences by our mainstream customers cannot be ignored and therefore the foldability for a 26 inch wheel bike that has at least 21 speeds (the Joe P24 is 24 speeds) is welcomed but a word of caution that it will not meet the LTA’s guideline for commuting recommendations. For those who recently purchased a Tern Joe series, there is a feature ( other than Tern’s excellent track record of design really nice looking bikes and innovative folds), its the ability to flatten your bike for you to fit it into your car/taxi boot AND that gap between walls or cupboards for storage. How did the Tern design team achieve that?

N fold design gives you a faster and more even fold. and the real gem is in the handlebar. with a provided allen key that is part of the ARX grips, you can now release the stem with the handlebar and reinsert it in parallel to the bike after its folded ( what a mouthful!)

Now – that’s what I call a head-Terning innovation.

We enjoy helping our customers (re)discover their cycling life, and with so many brands, many choices for accessories and models to choose from, we have helped many people make sense out of the noise (so to speak).

So as we unfold into the rest of the year, we will work on getting more models, more accessories and renew our free workshops on bike care and cycling in groups.

We will also be ranging new stuff and carrying a wider range of Biologic, Syntace, Wheelsport, Powerstar accessories and more models of the folding bike brands that we ranged; Tern, Dahon, DNA, Flamingo(soon to be rebadged as MIT), Airnimal, Bike Friday, Tyrell, Moulton.

But please bear with us as we are trying our best to give sufficient attention to everything and while we are looking into hiring more mechanics and retail staff, and many of you keep telling us to open a branch at the North East side of Singapore.   With rising rental and wages, the coming Lemon Law,  it’s harder to make a business case but we will keep trying. To keep our My Bike Shop ambience, we have to do stock check, “gotong royong”(spring cleaning), clean up My Bike Shop and My Bike Shop Too! and do some team building exercise like prawn fishing and BBQ.

Mohd Fahmie::
Age: 35, extreme sports enthusiast. Known as ‘The Jack Of All Trades’ by his peers, started out with riding freestyle BMX at the age of 11, move on to Skateboarding, Mountain biking, Golf, MX racing and Skydiving. He is the brain child of a well known riding community in Singapore and Malaysia call “RIDE BROTHERS”. Since he started DH racing, he has been the top 10 in the master category in all, if not most of the races and events. Fahmie is the 2011 Singapore’s Master Champion for downhill racing. Putting together his life’s experience, extreme sports and golf knowledge, combine with Ian Krempl’s youth and natural ability they will make “2Hearts” a well known and feared Downhill racing team in the region.

Ian Krempl::
Aged 23, is the current National Championship Silver Medalist. He started racing at the tender age of 14, and through hard work and effort and personally funding a regional racing program. He has proven himself and still is the youngest ever Downhiller to wear the National colors, including at the 2007 Sea Games, aged 19. He has become a regular character on the South East Asian race circuits. Ian is planning to expose himself to the Asia-Pacific circuits to gather invaluable experience because of the higher standards of racing with the best of Asia-Pacific and World Class venues.
