  1. I was told by Bike Friday in US, that there will be a new dealer in Sg. When will you received the first Bike Friday shipment

    • We anticipate by end of June as we have just finalised some details on range and also the considerations ( Such as accessories, parts, upgrades, tires and tubes) that go with the sale of BFs.

Do give us a call or email us your contact if you want to be on our mailing list

      • Bike Fridays have arrived, been unpacked and now available for test rides!! Do not worry, in the same MBS tradition, we offer you the chance to trial the Bike Fridays not just on Fridays but everyday….except Thursdays and Sundays LoL

  2. Hello,
I would be interested in buying a bike friday
what is the procedure for buying the bike and how much will it cost
I want EXAMPLE 1-New World Tourist
    how much will it cost
    Murthy

    • Dear Murthy, best way to do this is to come by MBS. Why? You get to trial the bikes in the comfort of a 2000 sq ft showroom of bikes. There is no rush, take yout time to observe, discuss and then decide if you want stock Fridays or BTO Fridays.

  3. Hi,
I stay in Bangalore, India and would like to know how much it would cost to get the bike shipped to here
    Murthy

    • Hi jimmy, thx for the interest. we do not do delivery but there is a great offer now for all flamingos. without sounding selfish, you can actually visit C2C in AMK (nearer to Yishun) whom is a fellow dealer who carries flamingo. please call on them before you go.

  4. Hi Again,
My friend is visiting Singapore in September, and I am planning to ask him to carry a folding bike for me from there, do you guys stock Bike Friday’s and Moultons if yes how much do they cost, I am interested in New world tourist from Bike Friday or TSR30 from Moulton.
    Murthy

    • Murthy,

Seriously you cannot buy a bike based on specs and we do not quote over the email or the Web. Also buying a bike is also about understanding your needs and making sure you are fitted properly with riding position and height of seat post etc… We love selling folding bikes but we value our customer’s physical safety MORE!

    • Dear Mark,

      MBS operating hours are:

Mon – Sat 12 noon to 8pm. Closed on Thursdays, Sundays and major public holidays. Call if in doubt 67757133. We have more than 40 foldable bikes and models to choose from in a 2000 sq ft showroom space. See you at the shop!

    • No man..Distributor aka Speedmatrix is very strict ;) and it pays to order when they have a Preorder or Sale program going on. None at this present time OK?

  5. Hi Mr Tan,

My last few visits at MBS are wonderful. I must agree that i now have a hard decision to make. But i decided to be frank with you guys. I have always been looking at the curve and had even decided to come this sat to buy the curve. Then suddenly, i found the GSS sale price in Speedmatrixdepot website for the curve to be 100 cheaper than your current price. However, you mentioned that it is not possible to match the promotional price.

However, i found another shop carrying speedmatrix dahon willing to match the GSS price. I am still undecided. for the 100bucks saving, i am going to forgo your good service and effort?? on the other hand, the GSS is not very long ago so i really appreciate the other shop for doing the matching because it really a pain to miss it by just 1 months plus.

I am still undecided who to go now. Of course,if there is a win-win solution for me to value shop with good customer service, i would choose that. Meanwhile, i think i will have to ponder over it till Thursday. I wonder if MBS would like to write to me on this. thanks guys

    • Who is that shop? GSS is already over. We really have to be fair to people who respond when a promo is in force and extend promos only when they are still endorsed by Speedmatrix. I would be very surprised any other shop will do that to jeopardise their business relationship.

      • Not to worry. MBS did a great job in upholding your shop’s promise. Normally, when i see cheaper price, i would run for it without second thought.

But after experiencing very lousy treatment at a LBS in lavender area, i did not want to turn a blind eye for shops with decent/good treatment to their customer. I am still with you guys. i have never done this so i hope i would be right this time. i tell you more able the offer when i am down at your shop in the next few days.

      • Thank you for your kind comments but please no bike shop bashing. Business is hard enough and everyone have their own priorities. We at MBS do what we do best – help you find your ideal folding bike with our widest range and > 5 years knowledge in this business. We have not neglected any brand/customers we have sold to so far. Take your time to decide and see you soon.

    • Rust occurs on non Aluminum parts and frames. I would doubt if any decent ridable foldable bike below $250 has 100% Aluminum parts and components. Suggest you come by our shop to look at the Aeon 16 inch Freedom. Frame is aluminum but the gear clusters are non aluminum at S$275.00.

  6. Hi I was the one that bought the Tundra Blue Speed D7 2 Saturdays ago. Could you please add me to your mailing list? Thanks! :D

  7. Hi, I need to new set of wheels for my Bike Friday New World Tourist. Could you let me know what your lightest set would be please. And the cost. Many thanks, Luke

  8. I own NWT and need 1. Front rack 2. Mudguards.
Do you have it in your stock. How much its cost?
please mail me if dont want to post ur price here.
    Thanks

  9. Hi, I’m interested in getting a foldable bike that’s ultra light and still comfortable enough to ride for longer distance. Can you please advise the cost for model (Dahon Ciao! D5)? Thank you!

    • Ultra light itself limits you to only the Mu EX(8.8kg) or Tyrell FX(8.7kg). Most comfortable foldie goes to the full suspension Dahon Jetstream EX. The Ciao does not fall into that category as it is relatively heavy compared to others. Both models mentioned are used for century rides.

  10. thanks for your quick response, great! Honestly, do you have an ultra light foldable bike model that’s tailored for women and especially those with injuries that can’t ride a bike with a high top tube? This info is important before one makes a trip to visit your shop.

  11. Hi,I really crazy for the model vector x20 but as you said it take more then 6 month for the model to arrive. I found out in the net UNNAMED Factory & trade company ltd in China is willing to ship the bike for me what iam afraid is not sure wheather the company is the authorised dlear for Dahon?.Need an advice from you . Thanks

  12. Hi I am planning to buy my wife and I each a foldable bike with a budget around $1k per bike. Just want to find out if you shop is tied with any credit card company where there may be interest free installment plans available? Thanks!

    • I assume you were planning to sat S$1k per bike. That is a good budget but there are more pertinent factors to consider like bike maintenance, routes and objective for cycling. if you are planning to for weekend rides and the occasional mass events, you fall under the Recreational segment. If you are a cyclist and want to get back into shape, buying a bike with more than 8 speeds is better. Last but not least – find a good local bike shop who has been around for a long time who will attend to your servicing and maintenance needs. Come down to talk to us. You not only get to to try and discuss, you get fitted properly so you reduce injuries.

      Cya!

      • Thanks. I do plan to drop by your shop to try out bikes prior to buying. What about my 2nd question on the interest free installment plans? Are they available?

  13. Hey, do you guys have the Dahon espresso? If yes, how much is it?
I’m looking for a bike which I can use to commute to work. What do u recommend?

    • We do not carry the Espresso. We understand that new models are due soon so you should wait.

For intermodal commuting, smaller wheels like 20 inch models is always preferred. If its a beginner foldable bike and you just want to see if it works the GSS promo for the Flamingo HT2007 at S$299 is a REALLY good buy

      • I’ll take your advise and wait. I’m very keen on the Matrix. Please call me when the stocks are in.

  14. Heyo, I was the guy who called earlier about the Biologic Iphone 4 Mount. It’s the one with the side opening right? I saw a video on it and it’s pretty cool. will the mount fit onto road bike bars? Mine is abt 32mm. I should be able to drop by later to get it. Should open another branch in the East. Its a bike town here. Loads of ppl are looking for this mount. Cheers.

  15. Hi, hope to seek your opinion based on the countless advice you have given on the enquries.

I decided to go for cycling with my wife after some advice that it would exert less stress on the knees. However we have not cycled for decades and not sure whether it’s good thing to jump straight to buying a folding bike that cost more than $500 (given that we have not embark on cycling at all). The reason to go for folding bikes is that it allow for it to be kept in hdb flat than outside and could at time be brought along mrt stations (provided our love for cycling grows and we wanna explore other places than our neighbourhood) . I did take a look at the bikes in NTUC especially the folding bikes but they were heavy and am worried that the parts may not hold the weight over prolonged usage. At the same time, we are unsure whether we should spend so much on a first bike (for both of us). Would your shop have folding bikes around $200 – $400 as that is our concern too?

    Your advice is much appreciated.

    • Dear Rick,

Allow me to answer your questions as there are several considerations:

I decided to go for cycling with my wife after some advice that it would exert less stress on the knees.
Ans: Cycling is a low impact sports especially on your knees so its ideal.

However we have not cycled for decades and not sure whether it’s good thing to jump straight to buying a folding bike that cost more than $500 (given that we have not embark on cycling at all).

Ans: You know what they say about cycling, once you have master it, you do not forget about it. Its a skill that is great to have.

The reason to go for folding bikes is that it allow for it to be kept in hdb flat than outside and could at time be brought along mrt stations (provided our love for cycling grows and we wanna explore other places than our neighbourhood) .
Ans:True. So many people have folding bikes because they do not get into trouble at Condos and HDB common areas whre you cann place your bicycle. Folding bikes also offer the benefit of folding into a compact size and commuting by train is actually allowed. In Singapore however, there is additional rules that limit folding bikes on trains only on off peak hours. Good quality folding bikes have been ridden by people from all walks of life and for distances even exceeding 100km but NOT all folding bikes are the same even though they may look similar.

did take a look at the bikes in NTUC especially the folding bikes but they were heavy and am worried that the parts may not hold the weight over prolonged usage. At the same time, we are unsure whether we should spend so much on a first bike (for both of us).
Ans: Check the specs, make sure you get components that do not rust, 7-8 speeds are useful to have, make sure that max rider weights are stated. folding mechanisms should come with safety double locking mechanisms. The lighter they are, the more expensive they get. Riding on bikes allwo syou to cover much much more ground.

Would your shop have folding bikes around $200 – $400 as that is our concern too?
Ans: We used to carry a line of folding bikes – Aeon and they were good entry level bikes and they cost S$350. We have a promo for Flamingo now which is a 7 speed folding bike from Taiwan and they cost S$299 each. You should look at that if cost is a concern and you are not sure whether you and your wife are going to take this sports seriously

      Your advice is much appreciated.
Ans: Come down and have a chat with us, you get to try the bikes and speak to our very experienced folding bike advisers

  16. Hello. Do you carry the Rido bike saddle? I am interested in getting one when I visit Singapore on June 30, 2011. I may also get a Bike Friday Tikit Model T (not sure if I got the model right). Do you carry this particular model? I understand that I have to be fitted so that the Tikit can be custom assembled for me. Is this done in your store? Thanks so much.

  19. Hi,

Do you have stocks for speakers for bicycles other than Podio? I am looking at either biologic cycletunes or sound shell?

    Thanks!

  20. Hello, I have a question about the Biologic iphone case;. Does it dim the iphone screen when in use or is that a function of the iphone gps/bike app? Also do you have one in stock now?

  21. Hi, MBS

    Looking for a Dahon Mu P 24 2011 Model,

Do you have ready stocks to cash and carry?

Any Promo on going for this Model?

Possible to advise me how much would I be loking at for this model?

    Many Thanks

    • which model? best for you to come by. the thing is they look fast, rides fast and sells fast too….:) we are left with CSI now..and units are limited…we have a demo FX and our friendly customer managers will help you understand and macth your needs

    • the FX is going for S$2850. there is white but its better if you can come down to place a preorder so you are assured of a delivery. if for some reason the bike is not delivered within its said timing (+ – 1 mth), we will give you a full refund. call us at 67757133 to discuss further.

  22. Hi My Bike Shop,
I am in SIN on Monday the 11th for a day. I would like to drop in to talk about purchasing another bike. I am looking for a Dahon, specifically an Uno, a Speed or a Mu.
Company has placed great restrictions on our crew bag weights so, since our destinations are generally flat places, I want to find the lightest, most simple Dahon that will FIT IN MY CREW BAGGAGE, disassembled as I normally do with my present mainstay bike, the Dahon Helios.
The bike MUST fit in the company-issued case, (BF fits into another, larger Samsonite “Flyte” case, but company policy dictates that the case we use is the case we are issued…) and I cannot consider a purchase unless we disassemble the bike in-store and put all the bits in the case.
Should I purchase I will leave with the bike in bits, the case.
I’ll bring other bits like tools I normally use, shoes and pedals. I believe the Mu Uno is lighter but seeing is believing.
Any idea where I might find a Carrera Carapacho helmet?
Looking forward to seeing you guys on Monday.
    Jeff

    • Dear Jeff,

when its about the lightest – Consider the Vector X10. If its about Value – Consider the Mu P8, we can help disassemble the front fork to reduce the dissassembled size but really have to know what is the bag you have. We are opened noon to 8pm so see you soon. Tel +65 67757133

  23. Hi,

I bought the Jetstream P8 from your shop last week.

    Just wanted to check:

    1. Is there a seat post rack available for the Jetstream P8 as i need to put a bag for commuting?

    2. Can the Jetstream P8 be fitted with a kick stand?

    3. How much do the tubes cost for the marathon racer?

    Thanks.

      • Hi , Thanks for the reply…think I need to visit your shop next Saturday.

Unbelievably, when I wanted to take my Jetstream P8 for a ride just now, I realized my back tyre was deflated…I only rode on the PCN and small roads last saturday and sunday..before I went overseas for work.

Guess I need to bring in for a check as well as getting a Pump..and other accessories..thanks.

  24. hello. i was in singapore on the first weekend of July but unfortunately was not able to visit your shop. i was planning to get a Rido saddle. will you accept an order which i will pay by credit card and have the saddle shipped to Manila, Philippines? thanks very much.

  25. Hi, I am looking for an inexpensive foldable bike that is comfortable to ride (esp cos roads where I stay tend to go up and down), yet is small enough to fit into my car boot. I will mainly be using it for short commutes. Would you have any to recommend?

    • Speed D7 is S$675 while the Vitesse is S$899. We have a Vitesse D7 with upgraded rims – just add S$100.

For Flamingo HT2007, at S$299 – cannot really move much

For credit card, there is no promo now but you can check with your credit card to see if they can extend a 6 mths instalment plan

  26. hi,

I am very interested to get the Airnimal Joey Sport model. I am staying in Sengkang, so wanted to check if you have the stock before i can come down. Also wanted to check if i can bring it on mrt/buses based on its folded size?
Also would like to check out if you have Bike Friday Pocket Companion stock?
    Thanks.

  27. Thanks. if so, I’ll be considering getting the Bike Friday. Looking for a 20″ tyre, < 11KG, can handle all terrain. I'll be coming down early next week, hope you have BF stock for such configuration :)

  28. Hi there, can I confirm you do sell tandem bikes in your shop? Can I check up the price cos me & hubby had been trying very hard to find one in Singapore!

  29. Hi,
Do you carry KHS brand such as KHS P20-T33A (mini bikes)?
Or do you carry any mini bikes range? And the price range for reference.
    Thanks.

      • Thanks.. Saw the Jetstream EX on promo at $3300. Is the price for the 2009 model or the new one with the disk brakes? Also any other alternative for rough terrain other than the Jetstream EX? Bike Fri pocket? Price?
        Thks..

      • Its the 2009 model. Actually we need to know exactly how rough the terrain you are talking about. There is of course the Dahon Flo. Full MTB designed by Ritchey BAB and designed by Joe Murray but packable weighing in at about only 11.3kg. For BF Pocket Pro, you need to come by and have a chat to configure the final bike.

  30. Hi, looking for a new bicycle with a budget up till $550.

Not that much of a heavy (lady) user, looking for simplicity and nice design (monochrome). I love Tern’s Link series http://mybikeshopsg.com/2011/08/12/a-tern-for-the-better/ , but would like to ask for your advise on more choices to choose from. Please drop me an email with the bicycles you would recommend with the price. Thanks a lot.

    Cheers,
    Min

  31. Hi, I’m new to cycling, looking for a mini velo (not fordable). I will be joining my friends for weekend night rides and the occasional mass events. Preferably is a fast and not so heavy one. What would you recommend and what’s the price range?
    Thanks.

  32. Hi may I noe if you guys have stocks for the Dahon Eco C6?
What are the chances of still being able to get two of them next month?

  33. Hi, looking at getting a pair of Dahon C6. Can I know price and stock availability? Can I also know the weight limit on it.
wondering if there are other comparable foldables in the price range or lower.
    Thanks

  34. Thanks, can I know when the Tern stocks will be in?
Can I know the comparison between the C6 and the Aeon?
    Thanks again

  35. Hi, I’m impressed by the Dahon Matrix. Do you have ready stock and could you post the price? Alternatively Tern Joe looks just as good. Any major difference for the above 2 models?

  36. Hi, I live in Perth but will be in Singapore next week. Alvin Lee brought me a Rido 2 for our recent 200km ride in WA’s Southwest. I had the most comfortable seat. I am after a price for your MKS removable pedals. Also a Zefal toe clip if you have them. Thanks.

    Pat

  37. I will drop by for sure. I have a pair of removable MKS SPD pedals fitted to my Bike Friday Pocket Rocket. I would like another pair for my Dahon P8. As I use the P8 for short rides, I probably don’t need SPD type pedals and could go with a toe clip to prevent slipping in wet conditions.

  38. I’ll be there for two weeks from the 17th, I am staying in the Upper Thomson area and may ride down on a cyclocross that I have there. I’ve been to the shop before and so know the place. Thanks.

  39. Do you perform upgrades? I have a D7 Speed and thought of changing the crankset to a better ones compare to the stock. What options is available?

  40. Hi There, I’m keen to buy the Airnimal gazalle package from you minus the group set and possibly a new handle setup. Currently, I have a set of Ultegra group from a previous roadie I would like to install on this new bike. Will you be able to accommodating this customization ?

  41. I had only traditional bike. I am considering upgrading my current bike and wonder if there are suitable good road bike for riding on roads and park connectors. Sorry, I am new to foldable bikes and my impression of it is that it is meant to be more for convenient than to be fast. Your advise pls.

    • Actually Park connectors are designed for recreational rides and not long straight runs. Most roadies prefer long straight and hilly roads so that they can pick up speeds above 40km/h to take advantage of the momentum. Do not think you can do that on any PCN. Foldable bikes have been around in Singapore for the last 6 years and many have enjoyed the many pluses of owning a folding bike and they can keep up with the century rides and fast rides should you have teh legs and lungs. There are many LBS that are out there so best for you to go visit them for road bikes. Check out http://www.togoparts.com for listing.

  42. Hi mybikeshop.

    Luv ur website.
    We have two dahons, a speed p8 n a really old 16″.

We were wondering if u carry any child carriers that could be fitted onto our bikes.

If u do, how much wpuld it cost.
    Thanks.

    Yana
(we live in malaysia but will be dropping into sg next week)

  43. Hi, i am looking for modified bike friday, i look at the bike firday website mentioned this modified frame can carry upto max 260 lbs, do you have the stock and how much is the price ?

  44. Hi, I am thinking of getting a foldable bike for my daily morning rides. My usual route comprises of some gentle slopes. My budget is between $100 and $150. Would you be able to recommend any models from your shop which are within this price range? Thank you.

  45. Hello, do you still stock Dahon MU P24 or is it discontinued? If so, do you stock Tern Link P24h? I’m slightly concerned about Link’s weight though, as I would to tour with it occasionally. What are your opinions?

    • Yes we stock both. All are 24 dual drive speeds and are brilliant for touring. SpeedTR are well regarded and recognised for touring purpose esp the CrMo frame that absorbs vibrations on long rides. MuP24 for its looks. The LinkP24 is like a combi. MuP24 and LinkP24 are Alu frames so you will get all road undulations felt. Prices are between Sgd 1500-1850.

  46. Hi

I would like to know whether you have stock for Tern Link C7. If not, when the new stock will arrive and when can I make a reservation?

    Thank you.
    zgn

  47. I owned a foldie (lambo desiderio) and look forward to ride with other foldie owners who have similar interest in making foldie go fast. Found your forum but it seem like participation of the mbs forum is no longer high. It appeared to be quite active in the past with lots of ocbc 2010 photos. Is the group still active? Are you able to direct me to the right link?

    • We have moved to using facebook as a platform for Rides and Discussions. There are specific links you can follow. For major rides and events, we will post on both the My Bike Shop Blog ( where you can follow) and My Bike Shop SG on facebook. Like us on facebook page and you get a note when something new is posted.

  48. Hi. I’m visiting SG soon and plan to visit your shop, but I’m only taking public transport. Is it advisable to take the MRT (Clementi) and then just walk up to your shop? Not familiar with bus stations. I’ll be coming from Little India. Thanks!

  49. Hi, I have a Tyrell FX and last Sat one of the spoke on the front wheel broke. Can it be fixed? If yes, can I bring the wheel to you? Thanks, Julian

  50. Hi,

Do you carry Performers mini velo?

If yes, what are the models/packages?

Able to email me the respective prices for the models?

    Thanks

    regards

    Y.k

    • We carry top Minivelos from Japan(Tyrell), UK(Moulton) and USA(Dahon). Apologies, we do not send pricing and specs info via email, best if you can come down to our shop. They range from S$2800 to S$15,000 depending on specs, material and reputation.

  51. Good day

What would you recommend on a good foldable bike at a budget of S$1k? I was told that the Dahon Speed P8 is not available.
My use will be on the PCNs and maybe some off-road.

    Thank you

    • Define “off-road”. If you are referring to the unbeaten ground like trails and not jumping off cliffs, the Tern and Dahon series is good and opt for thicker tires like the Marathon Racers. The folding joints better be one that has a good track record and comes with clear recounts by people who have taken them for long r9ough rides.

If its strictly S$1k, the Tern LinkD8, Dahon Speed D7 or Vitesse D7 are good options.

The Dahon Speed P8 is only coming in April 2012 but it is unlikely less than S$1k

      • Hi

Thanks for the reply. By off-road I mean trails.

Maybe I will stretch my budget and get the Speed P8 or the Link P9.

        Thanks.

  52. The Pango helmet is not sold in the United States. Do you carry this product and could it be shipped to the U.S.?

  53. Hi,

I’m looking to get a foldable bike to commute to work (about 10km one way), and perhaps if possible to bring it on overseas biking trip. Do you have any recommendations? my budget is around $600

    Thanks!
    Jia Hann

  54. Hi, I’m new to biking and is interested in either tern c7 and dahon c7 and both seems similar to in specs. Can you advice in terms of quality and parts availability, which is better?

  55. My sis has a Dahon that was purchased from Song Seng Chan @ Joo Chiat. It must have been banged up somewhat because the gear shifting is a bit busted (shifting too far down will cause the chain to slip off). She can’t spare the time to go down to Joo Chiat to have it looked at and I was wondering if I could bring the bike over to you for a tune-up since the bike is now with me and I’m nearer to Clementi.

    • Sounds like the limit screws are off, we can do a tune up but there will be a charge as the bike is not purchased from us. If its just the limit screws issue, we can help do it for S$5. But if its more than that, we would suggest you bring it back to the dealer where the bike was purchased.

      • I need a Dahon carry on bag as well. Do you have it. I means i want to get both the Dahon Mu P8 and the carry on bag at the same time so i can travel with my bike. How can I be sure I can get them when they arrive in Apr? I mean both items. Thanks.

      • The Carryon bag is more for daily commutes; therefore lightweight and offers very little protection. If you want to travel with teh bike, better to get Samsonite bag or Airporter.

  56. Hi,
I have a Dahon Smooth Hound (non lockjaw version). Looking for front and rear fenders. Do you carry them?

Also, I have a pre-loved Gentleman’s bike I’d like sell at your shop. How do I go about doing that?

  57. How much do they cost (ballpark figure) and will I have to reserve them? Also, how much will u charge for installation for something like that?

  58. hi, sorry, i means the carry on bag for me to travel around in MRT not exactly going overseas. I hope i can get bike and bag together so i dont have to make another trip to your shop. Can u let me know when both are available. I want a cloud color Dahon Mu P8 latest model. BTW, what is the price of the Dahon Mu P8 and do they come with kickstand or other extras. Appreciate, if you can enlighten me. Thanks. your service reply is very prompt, i like it. keep it up.

    • Chin Peng, we try our best despite being busy at the shop but still we get brickbats :p

Please Like our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/MyBikeShop and/or follow our blog. There will be no Mu P8 in the near future in terms of availability as the production is not scheduled yet (according to our Distributor suppliers). For specs, what you see is what you will get, we do not remove thing that comes with the orig bike and any extras ( fenders and racks) is chargeable.

The Biologic Carry all will be in about 2 weeks, just nice with the arrival of the Speed P8 S$1100 and Speed D7 S$675.

Hope to see you soon and call us on the 27 Mar before you come down.

      Thanks for the interest

      • hi, do they come with the cloud color. I means the Dahon Speed P8. Do you give any goodies if I come to buy it from you..smile thanks. I like reliable shop.

  59. Thanks. If it true the parts and frame come with a 5 yrs warranty. Btw, how do you place a pre order. Also do you know these batches of Dahon speed P8 that arrived on 27 Mar come from which country. China or Taiwan or .. I “kia su” bcos i always face problem with China made product. appreciated it if you can enlighten me.

    • Yes, Dahon and/or Dahon North America will come with 5 years warranty on frame and folding mechanisms against manufacturing defects. To be honest, almost all of the world’s folding bikes ( except Bike Friday and Moulton bikes) come assembled and made in China, even the big names, so don’t be too hard on Made in China. Chinese production that have international management have come a long way, it helps when it comes fromt heir own factories and permanent staff. These bactch of Speed D7 and Speed P8 is from the China factory. The Speed D7 and Speed P8s that are supplied to us have always been from China and we have been selling folding bikes from Dahon for the last 5 years (it’s our 6th year this year by Nov 2012). So far we have not had any complaints on QC, tampered components or problems on the folding joints. Just watch out for Speed P8 as there were a batch of rejected frames that were not disposed and they were assembled/sold with all sorts of parts and passed on as original Speed P8s.

You have to come and pay in full for the Preorder to secure your bike. We do accept you upgrading to a higher model should you change your mind on the Preorder after you see the bike. Only if we fail to supply the said model 4 weeks after we indicate a date, we will refund you in FULL for the payment – and with a smile :) Hope this helps.

  71. Hi
I am interested in getting a folding bike. The bike is mostly for weekend use in cycling to the park w the family.
Fyi, I am big size guy (weight: 98 kg / height: 188 cm).
Can recommend any folding bike that fits me. My budget below $1,000.
    Thanks!

    • JC, our folding bikes with the exception of Tyrell take up to 105kg and rider heights of 1.9m. Your specific use budget allows you to pick the 7 – 9 speeds category bikes ie Speed and Link series. Come by and try the bikes before you decide. Best way to buy a bike
