My Bike shop is very pleased and honored to work with Mr Brown and his travels again

Mr Brown who worked with us and his crew partner brought a Bike Friday Tikit and Tern Link P9 to Taiwan travelled safely despite the Bike Friday Tikit Safety warning. Nonetheless we took steps to ensure that his bike was inspected and he is off AGAIN

Cross post from Mr Brown:

I am leaving for the U.S. next week to speak and meet up with overseas Singaporeans at Ann Arbor (Wednesday, 24th Oct), Chicago (Friday, 26th October) and Seattle (Saturday, 27th October). Click on the dates for details.

The Overseas Singaporean Unit also interviewed me for their website (where I stole this photo from). You can read it on their site.

I will also be doing some cycling in the three cities on my Bike Friday Tikit (thanks to sponsor My Bike Shop) and I will share my cycling experiences too.

See you all in America next week!

P.S. This is the SECOND time I’ve gone to the U.S. during an election. The last time I was there was Obama vs McCain during September/October 2008. Haha!

A star in the West

Alot is happening around Bouna Vista location, we heard Mediacorp is moving there and the SMRT already opened its doors at Holland V and around the vicinity.

We have cycled past this amazing building that looks quite haphazard from the outside but when you go in, it really embodies the use of natural light, wind and reduces the use of electricity to power up the aircons in typical malls. Well done to Aedas who designed it!

Called the Star Performing Arts Centre, it really is a fantastic place to be.  Cross post from Greatnewplaces.com, “The new STAR Performing Arts Centre at Vista Xchange is the new 54,000 square metre development which comprises of cultural, civic & retail. The centre uses and provides a premier entertainment, lifestyle and retail experience.

Designed by Aedas, a spectacular 24,000 sq.m. retail space responds to the challenging site topography as the zone spirals inwards addressing the major entry points and culminates in an open amphitheatre.”

With many food and beverages places for you to choose from, this place is used as a church on Sunday but the other days just invites anyone who wants to chill to be there. We stopped by Papparich and has some Malaysian favorites and had our coffee fix, great service and a very hardworking manager who despite only being 1 day old was very helpful in making sure all things were running as well as they can. There are at least 12 food restaurants (on Friday evenings, expect to wait in queues at every restaurant), a Cold storage and even a money changer! Looks like Orchard road is coming to the heartlands.

Try to cycle and stop by there, the environment is just fantastic! Wished all civic centres were like that.
